At Hope Church, we take safeguarding seriously. We want every child, young person, and adult to feel safe, valued, and supported when they spend time with us. We follow the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy and the Diocese of London’s guidance for churches. Our own safeguarding policy sets out how we children, young people, and adults who may be vulnerable, and how we respond to concerns.

Our Commitments

The commitments below reflect our full Safeguarding Policy, reviewed annually by the Hope Church leadership team and our oversight at St Peter’s Harrow. We are committed to providing a safe space for every person who interacts with Hope Church.
This includes:

  • Creating a safe and caring culture across all gatherings, events, and activities.

  • Safely recruiting, training, and supporting everyone who serves with children, young people, or adults who may be vulnerable.

  • Responding promptly and appropriately to any safeguarding concern or allegation.

  • Caring for victims and survivors of abuse with compassion and humility.

  • Offering support to those who may pose a risk, while keeping the wider community safe.

  • Working closely with the Diocese of London and statutory agencies whenever needed.
